Matt’s photography is relevant to his artistic style and cutting edge bravado. Soft focus evokes and provokes one’s inner eye to imagine the clarity of some of the images allowing the viewer the freedom to co-create the final image in their own being.

Light and focus are often blurred by the imagination and perspective. Refraction can change shape and color of objects and subjects according to the position of perspective by the witness. Particles in the atmosphere also can change the coloration on film. Even the development process can change the look, feel and temperature of a photograph–subject, meaning and mood altering turned into art.

What sets Matt Wood’s Art apart from the rest is his innovative techniques for creating and co-creating artistry. Who would have thought that burying a painting under earth for a Year could produce such beautifying effects on oil and canvas. Not all pieces are cured this way, only ones that beckon the call from Mother Earth. Other works are soaked in fluids or whatever inspires the Artist’s Muse at the time of inception and conception.
